The lovely Helene started a brand new link-up that has anything to do with travel. Well, I just got back from my trip to Nashville and of course that would be an easy topic...but instead I want to talk about one of my favorite cities to visit: New Orleans.
I have visited 3 times, because one of my closest friends is from there. I've known her 10 years now. Craziness.
New Orleans is the home of Bourbon Street...
Oysters
Po Boys
Crawfish Boils
Abita Beer
Beignets and Chicory Coffee
Mississippi River
and other oddities...
The food is AMAZING. I fell in love with food. Beignets, crawfish, shrimp and grits, gumbo, jambalaya, oysters, po boys, pralines, bread pudding...I want to visit just for the food.
I have never been during Mardi Gras or Jazz Fest, but I hear it is pretty crazy. I look forward to visiting again and again.
If you ever get a chance, you really should visit. It may not be for everyone, but I think there is something for everyone in that city.

Love New Orleans but not much during Mardi Gras.. It is too nutz for me - yes the words TOO NUTS FOR ME did come out of my mouth. LOL
ReplyDeleteMust be great - I've never been there, but I'd love to see it! =)

ReplyDeleteNew Orleans is definitely in my top five US cities easily. I love that city! Actually just got back from spending about 10 days there for Super Bowl in Jan/Feb. Amazing city! And you are SO right about the food!!

The city for foodies!
ReplyDeleteI've been several times as well - my husband and I first went there for our 1st anniversary and it was a defining trip for us. We just went back again in August. The food has to be my favorite part of the city!
